This Tornado was made in 1968. Ovation advises the thin f-hole wood body was made in Germany, the neck in New Hartford Connecticut, where it was also assembled. Twenty three frets acessible from the double cutaway. It has solid top, back and sides and this one has the red stain. Top has the usual age cracks in the varnish, which is not apparent in the back and sides. Volume and tone are separate for bridge (humbucker) and neck (double slot humbucker). Three position switch. Volume pots reverse polarity in the lowest settings when switch is in mid position. Many interesting possibilities for blues or jazz. Bridge is easily adjustable while playing with full range of intonation options. Scale is 24.5 inch which permits noticeable shorter reaches and light action with heavier gauge strings. Neck is bolt on, narrow with medium frets and stays in tune even with the original Schaller tuners. This is a fantastic instrument that you pick up and do not set down for hours. Especially good through a tube amp, which were big back in 1968.
